Rockfall Monitoring: Advanced Wireless Solutions for Geological Risk Management

Wireless remote monitoring technology has been widely adopted to detect large mass failure of soil slopes, but the established methodology is inappropriate for rock slopes, which are characterised by movement of individual boulders or localised debris. Because these smaller objects can fall between sensor locations – yet still pose a significant threat to rail and other infrastructure - a bespoke solution is required.

Watch this on-demand webinar and learn about innovative trials being conducted in Switzerland in collaboration with Network Rail. This project is the culmination of a two-year development process, including option selection and prototype building, with monitoring evaluated in a safe quarry location.

    Key takeaways from this webinar:

    • Understand the limitations of established wireless remote condition monitoring methodologies applied to rock slopes.
    • Discover the unique challenges of monitoring rockfall and the necessity for custom solutions.
    • Explore the development and implementation of our advanced monitoring systems.
    • Gain insights from our testing trials in Switzerland and see real-world applications.
