Wireless Slope Monitoring

Real-Time Monitoring for slope stability with sudden event detection

Unstable slopes pose significant risks, including infrastructure damage, operational disruptions, and safety hazards. However, eliminating the risk of deformation, slope failure, and landslides affecting earthworks—such as cuttings, embankments, tailings dams, and levees—is not always feasible or cost-effective.

Remote slope monitoring plays a crucial role in an effective slope risk management strategy, providing real-time insights that enable early intervention.

Senceive's wireless slope monitoring system, protected by InfraGuard™ technology, provides both long term data on ground movement trends, as well as near real-time detection of sudden slope movements.

It delivers instant alerts, complemented by high - resolution photo verification, making it a valuable tool for landslide detection systems and landslip risk management, allowing engineers and asset managers to make informed decisions swiftly.

This proven technology enables a rapid response, reducing the time it takes to detect ground movement and initiate safety measures—such as the temporary closure of affected infrastructure - helping protect people and assets.

Why Choose Senceive for Slope Monitoring?

Reliable, Continuous Data - High-precision triaxial tilt sensors continuously monitor shallow ground movement, with regular data uploads. If an alert is triggered, the system immediately uploads data, overriding the pre-set sampling schedule.

Near Real-Time Alerts - Automated notifications via SMS or email help you respond quickly before movement becomes critical.

Intelligent Event Detection - Multi-level alerts based on severity of slope movement and on-site imagery for immediate verification.

Flexible Deployment - Wireless sensors are easily installed on slopes, embankments, retaining walls, and tailings dams in remote areas and can operate without any external power sources.

Long-Term Performance - Ultra-low power design ensures over 10 years of tilt sensor operation on a single battery.

Seamless Integration - Our Digital Interface Node supports geotechnical instruments such as piezometers and in-place inclinometers (IPIs) for a comprehensive geotechnical monitoring system.

How It Works

Senceive's wireless monitoring system is an intelligent, event-driven solution designed for at-risk slope environments where rapid response is critical. It is quick to install and needs minimal maintenance.

Triaxial tilt sensors are mounted on stakes to monitor sudden and incremental slope movement.

Data is transmitted via a 4G Gateway to the user's preferred data visualisation platform.

Optional 4G Cameras provide high-resolution images (day or night) to verify the severity of events.

Where Our Wireless Slope Monitoring Technology is Used

Rail and Road Cuttings and Embankments - Detect incremental and sudden movement that could affect transport networks.

Engineered and Natural Slopes - Monitor excavation and ground movement in construction and mining.

Tailings Dams - Gain early warning of deformation and potential failures in mining and industrial sites.

Landslide Prone Areas - Provide early detection of mass movement in vulnerable terrain.

InfraGuard™: Advanced Features with FlatMesh Intelligent Monitoring

On-Site Computation - Processes data in the field, reducing reliance on external servers.

Responsive Alarms - Normally reports on pre-set schedule (e.g. 15-minute intervals) but instantly wakes up and sends alert when an event occurs.

Sensor Triggering - If movement breaches a threshold, all sensors (including different types of sensor) in the network wake up and take readings.

Camera Activation - 4G cameras automatically triggered by sudden events to capture and transmit high quality images - day and night.

Sudden Movement Detection - Detects rapid changes at 1°/second of tilt, regardless of pre-set sampling schedules.

Dynamic Sampling & Reporting - Automatically increases sampling rate when movement is detected for more accurate analysis.

InfraGuard - How it works

Proven Success in Slope Monitoring

Senceive's monitoring solution—built around InfraGuard™ - is the world's most widely used wireless slope monitoring technology. More than 50,000 wireless sensors are in use today, monitoring for landslide detection, embankment failure, and geotechnical stability.

Our technology has helped prevent accidents and protect critical infrastructure in rail, construction, and mining industries.
